Is there anything I should keep in mind when setting the IP address and the host name?

On Linux servers, users are required to set the IP address and the host name before installing our product. Setting the domain name is a mandatory procedure and one or more dot "." should be included in each domain names. Please note that the software will not operate if the FQDN is set to localhost or localhost.localdomain.
